Look closely, this Buddha sculpture has worn knees. Visitors must be rubbing them for luck as they pass. Nice golden sash―goes well with the red incense!

MY FRENCH HIPPIE TRAILER! That long wooden bench on the deck was actually parked on the roof when I moved in. So I brought it down, popped an orange umbrella, and created a sitting area. More inviting, less trailer trashy.

FINDHORN is a world renown self-development center in northern Scotland. I had dreamed of going to Findhorn for years, and then eventually took part in a shamanism workshop on their Cluny College campus, and I returned for work assignments in the years that followed. Dream come true!

Disguised as an American tourist, I soldier on ahead of my group, scanning the perimeter for threats as I scout for a place to grab lunch. Eventually, I lead my platoon to a cabana-bunker for some much-needed refuge from the blistering sun.

This groovy art wall is a reference to the ancient temple complex, Angkor Wat, which is located near Siem Reap. But I'd still like to ask the artist, "Why the question mark?"
WAR MEMORIAL—Toulouse, France
This angel sculpture is featured within the city's Combatants Monument, an outdoor memorial to the local fallen soldiers of WW 1 and 2. She definitely looks like she could hold her own in battle. She even has a helmet!
ROTE FABRIK MURAL—Zürich, Switzerland
An intriguing mural on the side of the Rote Fabrik Art Center features an Asian woman with a cat on her head holding a can of spray paint. Nicely done.

This classic stone building with its fancy French Empire roof was designed by Taillandier Architects and is located at 7 Rue du Canard in Toulouse. The plaque nextdoor marks the entrance to a courtyard honoring the late French politician, Francoise Hébrard de Veyrinas.
BUILDING ARTISTRY—Montpelier, France
LOOK CLOSELY, those building facades are actually murals that are painted on flat surfaces in the traditional French style known as "trompe l'oeil".
